Magesh Chandramouli

Principal Investigator

Magesh Chandramouli is a Professor of Computer Graphics Technology at Purdue University, Northwest. He served as the Director of Programs of the Engineering Design Graphics Division of the American Society for Engineering Education. He was a Frederick Andrews Fellow at Purdue University, West Lafayette, where he completed his doctoral studies. He has served as the Principal Investigator, Co-PI, and/or collaborator on Federal grants including NSF (National Science Foundation) grants, SMART (Singapore MIT Applied Research & Technology fund), Brightspace Innovation Grant, and other grant efforts. He has received national and international recognition including the Warner Professional Practice Award from the Intl. Honor Society for Technology, Innovator Award, University Outstanding Scholar Award. He is/was a member of IEEE, American Society of Engineering Education, MENSA, and Epsilon Pi Tau, The International Society of Technology.



Aref Yadollahi

Acknowledgements

Post IRB approval, the evaluation of the VR modules for Communication in Engineering Education is conducted in Dr. Aref Yadollahi's Engineering course(s). The project team is grateful to Dr. Aref for his kind support towards this effort. Dr. Aref Yadollahi is an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering. His research and teaching interests include additive manufacturing, fatigue and fracture mechanics, solid mechanics, and materials science.


Ashayla Williams

External Consultant

Ashayla is a Purdue University Northwest graduate, holding a Master's degree in Modeling, Simulation, and Visualization, following her completion of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Graphics Technology. Her expertise lies in the development of Virtual and Augmented Reality learning environments tailored for child development, education, and training. She has actively contributed to a variety of research grants.









Steven Kass

External Evaluator

Dr Steven Kass is serving as the external evaluator for this project. Dr. Steven Kass runs the human factors laboratory and holds the rank of Distinguished University Professor of Psychology at the University of West Florida. His work, among other areas, involves the design and implementation of virtual and augmented reality assistance systems for various applications for improving human performance. In general, human factors research provides the knowledge to design systems that optimize performance by compensating for human limitations and capitalizing on human strengths. Dr. Kass teaches industrial and organizational psychology, human factors, training and development in the workplace, and psychology of learning. His research focuses primarily on issues of attention including boredom, distracted driving, and situation awareness.
